General Electric Solar Power – Technology for the Next Generation
July 5, 2009 by Steve
When you think of General Electric, what comes to mind is a name brand that consumers trust. They have been producing quality products for many years. While solar power equipment is considered a novelty by many people, General Electric offers a fair level of legitimacy to the market. With a brand like GE producing a product, it’s going to get an enormous boost. With billions of dollars being spent on alternative energy every year, solar power will become a staple of the American household and business in near future. General Electric solar power offers some of the cheapest but most efficient solar equipment available.
Solar Power Has Reached the Mainstream
Ten years ago solar power wasn’t considered to be mainstream. Although it’s still a little slow to take hold, you are hearing about solar energy more and more every day.
One reason solar power may still be a little slow to catch on is the price. A solar power kit can cost in excess of $25,000 for a single home. This can scare off a few people. Of course, they don’t take into consideration the amount of money they would save over time.
If they save $200 a month on energy costs, they can pay off their purchase in about 10 years. General Electric is actively working to reduce the cost of these kits so more people can afford state-of-the-art solar power panels.
When it comes down to it, most people would purchase solar power equipment from General Electric if they knew more about it. However, as dumb as it sounds, most home owners would rather stick with their current power company and spend thousands more in energy costs over a lifetime.
With excellent marketing, General Electric helps spread the word to companies and consumers, casting away much of the old stigma about solar power.
In a comprehensive plan to becoming energy independent, solar power is just one step. You can do your part to lessen the strain on the power grid by becoming self-sufficient. You can even sell excess electricity to the power company for a small profit if you produce more energy than you need.
While many home owners still can’t make up their minds on solar power, General Electric is spreading the word and producing the next generation solar power technology to millions of happy home and business owners. These are people who will save big-time in the future. Care to join in the fun?
